Teenager held for stealing from shops
The Police Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a student on charges of robbing several shops in various areas of Ras Al Khaimah.
Ras Al Khaimah: The Police Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a student on charges of robbing several shops in various areas of Ras Al Khaimah.
Lieutenant Colonel Sultan Salem Al Darmaki, who heads the department, said the 17-year-old Emirati suspect identified as H.M.H was caught red handed in a shop while robbing it, and later confessed to his crimes.
Al Darmaki added the suspect targeted mobile phone shops, toy shops and mobile credit shops in different districts using the same method. Al Darmaki explained that the suspect entered the shops after breaking the locks with a steel object.
He added the suspect conducted all his thefts late at night. The various police stations have received many reports of robberies in various areas of Ras Al Khaimah during the past few months.
Locks broken
The issue was discussed by top police officers, where General Shaikh Taleb Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chief of RAK Police, set up a team of investigators to resolve the case.
Al Darmaki said the police investigators scanned the various districts and conducted a careful study of the suspect's technique.
They were able to predict his next target and arrested him when he broke in. The police took him to the premises of the Police Department.
During the police investigations, the suspect claimed responsibility for many thefts in different parts of Ras Al Khaimah. He confessed to having used a sharp object to break the locks of the shops and wearing gloves to avoid leaving finger prints at the crime scene.
Al Darmaki said that the suspect confessed to having sold the stolen items to his classmates.
