Suspect held over camera in ladies' loo
A man has been arrested for installing a miniature camera in a women's toilet in a government building.
Dubai: A man has been arrested for installing a miniature camera in a women's toilet in a government building.
Police yesterday said they arrested the suspect, a 28-year-old Gulf national identified as A.K. for installing the camera at the Ministry of Environment and Water building in Dubai.

Gulf News on Tuesday reported that a female employee at the ministry had found a small wireless camera, the size of a one dirham coin, in a ladies restroom and reported it to police.
Colonel Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Deputy Director of Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), told Gulf News the suspect had installed the camera in the toilet on the same day that it was found by the ministry employee.
After receiving the report, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, ordered the CID to solve the case quickly and to reassure female employees at the ministry.

After checking the camera's location, the CID team closed in on the suspect within five hours of getting the report. The suspect was then taken for interrogation.
Al Mansouri said the suspect confessed to installing the camera in the female restroom. A.K., who suffers from psychological disorders, said the camera was connected to a receiver. Police seized both the devices and destroyed the contents in the presence of the Public Prosecution.
The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution and charged with breaching public morality.
Al Mansouri thanked the director of the environment department and the employees of the ministry for their cooperation which made police's job easier and helped in arresting the suspect.
