Dubai: Fingers of a Filipino worker were badly cut after his hand got stuck in a meat-cutting machine at a supermarket in Dubai on Thursday.

Police rescue team rushed to the store in Al Mankhol area, Dubai, and took the injured worker to hospital.

The accident happened while the worker was placing meat into the machine, said a police official.

"The man was in so much pain that he was hitting the rescue team; even a tranquilizer did not calm him. We had to take the machine along, which was carried by two rescue members to enable us to carry him to the hospital,'' said Major Juma Bin Darwish, the director of rescue department at Dubai Police.
