Saleswoman attacks would-be rapist

Dubai: A saleswoman gave a worker an unforgettable display of self-defence by repeatedly punching and kicking him off her bed after he trespassed into her bedroom seeking to have sex with her.
Records quoted the 29-year-old Lebanese saleswoman alleging that she punched the 26-year-old Pakistani worker's face five times, kicked him hard, then threw him off her bed when he reportedly tried to have sex with her.
The saleswoman testified in her statement that she was asleep when the Pakistani defendant woke her up saying: "I will kill you & I want sex," after he allegedly trespassed into her bedroom through one of the villa's windows.
"I am not guilty & that's all lies and nothing of that sort happened," the defendant, H.A., argued when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.
The Public Prosecution charged the suspect with threatening to kill the woman if she didn't have sex with him and molesting her after trespassing into the bedroom.
The suspect denied the charges and pleaded innocent when he appeared in front of Presiding Judge Fahmi Mounir.
The claimant, R.F., testified that the suspect reportedly trespassed into her villa in Jumeirah at around 6am.
"I was dead asleep and suddenly I thought I saw a man's shadow in the bedroom. I continued sleeping for a few seconds until the defendant [was] lying over my body and threatening to kill me if I refused to have sex with him. I punched him five times then kicked him and threw him off my bed then jumped to the nearest light and switched it on. He pointed in my face a big knife which he used to destroy the light & when I grabbed my phone to call the police, he escaped," claimed R.F.
An Emirati policeman testified that the woman claimed it was the gardener who attacked her. Police arrested the suspect who turned out to be H.A. The saleswoman identified him at the lineup three times.
The defendant on Sunday asked the judge to summon the claimant to hear her statement when the court reconvenes next month.
