Salesman trial: Student 'was molested'
A salesman who opened a woman's abaya when he pretended to be showing her an incense burner has been charged with molestation.
Dubai: A salesman who opened a woman's abaya when he pretended to be showing her an incense burner has been charged with molestation.
Records said the 27-year-old Indian salesman opened the 23-year-old Emirati female student's abaya. "I didn't molest her. I am innocent because I just placed the incense burner in front of her abaya which I didn't touch," the suspect, M.M., told the Dubai Court of First Instance on Tuesday.
The Public Prosecution charged him with molesting the student. The suspect pleaded not guilty and handed Presiding Judge Saeed Salem Bin Sarm a written waiver which he obtained from the claimant.
The 23-year-old said she reported the matter to the police.
A verdict will be given soon.
