Reckless pickup driver jailed
A reckless driver has been jailed and ordered to pay Dh800,000 in blood money to the families of four of his passengers who were killed when he crashed into a cement truck.
Dubai: A reckless driver has been jailed and ordered to pay Dh800,000 in blood money to the families of four of his passengers who were killed when he crashed into a cement truck.
The Dubai Traffic Court sentenced the Pakistani pickup driver, to six months in jail and fined him Dh5,000. Presiding Judge Jasem Mohammad Ebrahim also revoked his drivers' license for one year starting on Monday.
Police records said the accused was speeding at 160km per hour before he lost control and crashed into a concrete mixer truck and killed the four workers at Al Mahraqa Roundabout in August.
