Private teacher denies molesting housemaid

Dubai: A teacher has denied molesting a housemaid in a flat where he went to give a private lesson to a schoolboy, a court heard on Thursday.

Prosecutors charged the 26-year-old Egyptian with molesting the 28-year-old Filipina, trespass and damage to property.

"I am not guilty… I knocked on the door and the housemaid willingly let me in.." the defendant A.H. said when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance.

According to the arraignment sheet, the teacher hugged and groped the Filipina, trespassed and broke the doorknob.

The suspect, repeatedly said "that didn't happen," when he refuted the charges before Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad.

A 38-year-old Emirati housewife, who is the Filipina's employer, testified the suspect arrived to teach her son.

"I was in the corridor when I saw in the mirror A.H. hugging the maid and drawing his body close to hers. I yelled at him immediately and ordered him to leave… then I put on my shaila and abaya because I was wearing my nightgown then headed to the main hall. I closed the door without locking it and went to call my husband from the other room. The suspect came back in, hung up the phone and told me ‘no problem miss, nothing happened'. I ordered him to leave and closed the door…"
