Dubai: You can register with the police to ensure your home is safe while you are away on your summer vacations, according to a Dubai Police release.

The service is free, according to Lieutenant Colonel Jamal Al Jalaf. The number of people registering has jumped last year to 205 compared to just 38 a year before, he said.

The officer said you can even send the surveillance request application from outside the country and the police will keep an eye on your residence.

The home safety service was launched in 2001 to help prevent crimes before they occur, especially during summer.
