Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have seized 734kg of hashish worth Dh7.34 million. Police have arrested one man while the other man involved in the crime left the UAE a few days before the arrest.

The hashish was hidden in dried fodder that was stored in a farm in Musaffah.

The suspects, from an Asian country, brought the shipment of hashish into the country to sell.

According to police, one of the accused transported the haul from an emirate to Musaffah to store it there for trade purposes.

The police added that the role of the two accused was to store, transport and sell the drug, as well as transfer money to their ringleader in their home country.

Interrogated by police and the public prosecution, the accused, identified as L.Q.Y., aged 35, said the hashish belonged to his ringleader identified as A.D.J., aged 42, who had left the country.

He added that he had received instructions from him through international telephone calls.
