Police arrest six in anti-narcotics operations from UAE's east coast

Police have arrested five men in an anti-narcotics operations in Kalba and Khor Fakkan and are looking for another three suspects as another person was also apprehended in Dibba.

Fujairah: Police have arrested five men in an anti-narcotics operations in Kalba and Khor Fakkan and are looking for another three suspects as another person was also apprehended in Dibba.

The Kalba Public Prosecution started interrogating the five suspects and issued an arrest warrant against the three.

The suspects include three Emiratis and five people without documents.

The operation started after police in Kalba received information about possible illegal activities of a suspect.

He was then put under surveillance by the anti-narcotics department and was later arrested and his property searched.

Under investigation, the first suspect gave police the names of another seven individuals suspected of possession and consumption of drugs.

Police also suspect that at least three of the suspects to be suppliers of drugs.

In operations covering Kalba and Khor Fakkan, police raided the homes of the suspects and managed to arrest four of the seven suspects.

Police efforts are continuing to arrest the other three suspects.

In a separate case, police in Dibba Al Fujairah arrested a man as he crossed over from Dibba Al Hosn after receiving information he may be involved in narcotics-related activities.

Emirati, M.S., was found to have a quantity of hashish on his person and is now under further investigation by the Public Prosecution in Dibba.
