Dubai: A plumber will spend three months in prison after being found guilty of seeking an undeserved promotion by physically threatening his boss's wife and daughter.

Presiding Judge Abdul Majid Al Nezamy of the Dubai Court of First Instance incriminated the 34-year-old Indian suspect yesterday of threatening his boss that he would harm his wife and daughter and ordered that he be deported after serving his imprisonment.

The accused had pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court last week.

The Public Prosecution charged the accused, A.J., with grabbing the 42-year-old housewife by the neck and threatening to kill her and her daughter if his 45-year-old boss, J.N., refused to promote him.

Testimony

J.N. testified: "The accused came up to my flat and banged on the door. I allowed him in because he was yelling loudly in front of our neighbours. Then he held my wife's neck and threatened to kill her and my daughter if I didn't promote him."
