Men's bodies discovered in Sharjah apartment
An expatriate killed one of his relatives and then committed suicide, Sharjah Police said on Sunday.
Dubai: Sharjah police are investigating the case of two Nepalese men who were found dead in their accommodation on King Faisal Street.
One man in his late 20s was found hanging from the ceiling while another lay in a pool of blood on the floor.
A Sharjah police report said a Nepalese man identified as B.D, had murdered one of his relatives, identified as A.R., and then committed suicide.
The building's night watchman made the discovery early on Saturday when he went to give a wake-up call to his colleague, B.D. to take over the shift.
Speaking to Gulf News Bikram said: "The door was locked and when I failed to get any response I peeped through the window and saw B.D's body hanging from the ceiling. The window was large enough and so I got inside the room to find another man lying in a pool of blood with his face battered.
"The dead man on the floor had come to visit B.D. on Thursday night. I learnt that he belonged to the same village. I looked around and there were two beer cans, a pack of rat poison on the table and a blood-smeared steel pipe," he added.
He said he was still unable to comprehend the motive behind the deaths.
"All three of us had dinner together on Friday evening. I last saw B.D and A.R at 10.30pm when they went to their room on the sixth floor. The scene of the two dead men was quite gory and disturbing," he said.
