Dubai: A Filipina was stabbed by a man in Wafi Mall in Dubai on Thursday evening while she was on duty at a beauty salon, Gulf News has learned.
The woman who is believed to be in her thirties, according to witnesses at the mall, was covered in blood.
"I work at a restaurant at the third floor while she works in the first floor. She is a regular customer at our restaurant and it was shocking to see her white uniform covered in blood. She fainted on the second floor as she had fled from the first floor where she was stabbed," said an eyewitness.
According to another witness, the Filipina fled into an elevator, leaving a trail of blood to the second floor of the mall where she collapsed. It is not yet confirmed whether she was killed, but police units and ambulances were present at the scene.
Witnesses claim that the Nepali man who stabbed her was in a relationship with the victim, who they claimed had stabbed himself in a bid to commit suicide.
The incident happened at around 9pm on Thursday and stains of blood were spotted on the first and second floor. The police later cordoned off the areas.
