Dubai: A man who disposed of his victim's blood-soaked clothes after quarrelling with him over a woman and killing him, will spend 25 years in prison.

The 26-year-old Indian who pleaded not guilty when he was brought on a hospital bed to Dubai Court of First Instance, has been given a life sentence. He will be deported after serving his punishment.

The accused, S.N., had a car crash and sustained critical injuries on his way back to Dubai after he disposed of the victim, M.S.'s clothes in Hatta. "The deceased was the one who attacked me first... I tried to defend myself and I had no intention of killing him," S.N. said from his hospital bed when Presiding Judge Saeed Salem Bin Sarm confronted him with his charges earlier.

S.N., who works as a janitor at a hotel, was charged with stabbing M.S. and battering him with a hockey stick.
