Man denies Dh70,000 swindle
A man has denied impersonating a shaikh and that he swindled a woman out of Dh70,000.
Dubai: A man has denied impersonating a shaikh and that he swindled a woman out of Dh70,000.
The Public Prosecution charged the 26-year-old employee, who did not carry identification documents, with deceiving the 38-year-old Iranian woman and swindling her out of Dh70,000. He is said to have told the woman he would hire a lawyer to defend her husband in a drug case.
The suspect, N.S., was also charged with threatening to place drugs in the car of the woman, K.R., if she reported him to the police.
N.S. was also charged with using a fake health card during the impersonation.
The suspect denied all charges when he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance.
