Man charged with abusing and raping mentally ill woman

Dubai: An Indian dyer was on Tuesday charged by the Public Prosecution with the abuse and rape of a 26 year old mentally ill woman.

An Indonesian house maid is accused of aiding and abetting the Indian dyer.

In her testimony, the 26 year old woman said the suspect had raped her several times and the housemaid was aware of his actions.

Medical reports confirm that the woman has been mentally ill since childhood.

Both the accused have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
