Jewellery worth million dirhams stolen from a shop in Ras Al Khaimah

Gold jewellery worth a million dirhams was stolen from a shop at a mall in the Al Nakheel area here on Wednesday.

Ras Al Khaimah: Gold jewellery worth a million dirhams was stolen from a shop at a mall in the Al Nakheel area here on Wednesday.

The burglary took place around 3am; the burglar used a sharp object to break the lock and steal Dh1 million worth of jewellery, said Lieutenant Colonel Salem Sultan Al Darmaki, head of Criminal Investigation Department, Ras Al Khaimah Police Department.

The burglar managed to escape, but the police promised to bring the suspect to book soon.

Police have got some leads that would help to nab the culprit, said Lieutenant Colonel Al Darmaki.

Mall employees claim that the burglary was an organized gang operation.
