Fujairah: A German man was jailed for two months on Tuesday after the Fujairah Appeal Court rejected his appeal against a previous conviction for issuing a dud cheque.

W.T., in his forties, issued the cheque to a cargo shipping company for the value of Dh290,000 in exchange for delivery of goods.

After the cheque bounced, W.T. was reported to the police who, after investigating the claims, moved the case to the Fujairah Public Prosecution.

The Public Prosecution pressed charges against the German and he was convicted by the Fujairah Criminal Court.
