Dubai: A gang suspected of stealing and selling containers has been arrested. The police acted on a tip-off from an Asian man who worked for a general transportation company.
He reported a stolen container, which belonged to the company, when it was parked near a petrol station near the main gate of Jebel Ali Port.
A team from Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) carried out an intensive search in coordination with CID departments of other emirates.
An Asian man was arrested in connection with the theft. An Arab, whose role was to transport the container for Dh600, was also arrested.
Police took legal action to bring back an absconding suspect, while the two arrested were referred to the Public Prosecution.
