Fujairah: A Pakistani truck driver has been sentenced to four months in jail and ordered to pay Dh200,000 in compensation to the family of an accident victim.

The Fujairah Appeal Court upheld a lower court verdict against the suspect, for causing an accident in September, in which one man was killed and another three injured.

The accident happened near Al Bithna, Fujairah, when the driver made a U-turn and entered a fast lane, failing to notice an incoming car with four people on board.

The Palestinian driver of the car was killed and his three Bangladeshi passengers were injured in the accident.
