Fujairah court reduces prison term of two thieves

Two Emirati men convicted of robbing a mobile-phone shop had their jail term reduced from three years to just one by the Fujairah Appeal Court.

Fujairah: Two Emirati men convicted of robbing a mobile-phone shop had their jail term reduced from three years to just one by the Fujairah Appeal Court.

The Fujairah residents were arrested after a police investigation into the shop robbery in the city of Fujairah.

The pair were charged and convicted of breaking in and stealing Dh5,040, a cheque book, 17 mobile phones and 23 top-up cards.

They were sentenced by the Fujairah Criminal Court to three years in prison each.
