Dubai: A fire broke out on a bus in Dubai on Thursday.

The RTA bus, route 21, was completely gutted by the blaze which started at 1.45pm in Khalid Bin Waleed Street, which is more popularly known as Bank Street.

It is believed that 50 people were on board, and the fire has been blamed on an electrical fault.

The driver, Akhtar Zaman, said he noticed a burning smell coming from within the bus.

“I stopped the bus and asked the passengers to get off. As soon as the passengers were off the bus caught fire and I jumped off immediately.''

No injuries have been reported.
