Dubai: An unmarried couple have been arrested for engaging in sexual activities on a public beach last weekend, Gulf News has learned.
A police patrol informed the couple that it was illegal but they ignored the advice and were remanded soon after.
The two drunk British adults were then arrested after the 30-year-old woman, who has been a resident in Dubai for the last three years, verbally and physically assaulted a police officer, using abusive language. The man was a tourist.
According to information received by Gulf News, the couple married after they were bailed, in an effort to reduce any sentence that may be given.
