Dubai Police launch campaign to tackle aggressive driving
A campaign to tackle aggressive driving is on the way in Dubai.
Dubai: A campaign to tackle aggressive driving is on the way in Dubai. Dubai Police will kick off the drive on November 2 and will continue till November 16, 2008.
During the campaign, police will target speedsters, motorists who change lanes without indicating, tail-gaiting and other aggressive behaviour on the road and issue them spot fines.
Frequent violations will lead to the vehicle being impounded, said Brigadier Mohammad Saif Al Zafein, Director of Dubai Police's Traffic Department, while announcing the campaign on Thursday.
Aggressive driving is an uncivilized behaviour, said Al Zafein.
The campaign is an extension of an earlier drive launched, which was restricted only to Shaikh Zayed Road.
The police also urged motorists to report unruly behaviour on the road at 8004345.
