Dubai: A man suspected of murdering a 52-year-old Gulf Arab, who was found dead in his apartment in the International city recently, has been arrested, said a senior official at Dubai Police.
An investigation team went to the crime scene after Dubai Police's Operations Room received a call from one of the victim's friends, complaining that he was unable to contact his friend for two days.
Police found the victim dead in a pool of blood near the door of his bedroom.
Colonel Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Deputy Director of Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said the 20-year-old Asian suspect is accused of murdering the victim by stabbing him with a knife six times in different parts of the body.
"The motive of the murder is theft, but the suspect did not find much money and only stole a camera and some razor blades," said Al Mansouri, adding that the suspect has confessed to the crime.
The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
