Devil made me molest woman, Egyptian tells Dubai court
A worker has claimed that the devil incited him to touch a woman's behind and hug her while she was sitting on her doorstep, a court heard.
Dubai: A worker has claimed that the devil incited him to touch a woman's behind and hug her while she was sitting on her doorstep, a court heard.
"It was devilish behaviour... the devil prompted me to touch her buttocks when I was behind her," the 22-year-old Egyptian, A.E., testified when the Public Prosecution questioned him.
The Dubai Court of First Instance is questioning him over charges of molesting the 29-year-old Filipina waitress, M.A.
The waitress testified: "I was sitting on the doorstep of my house in Al Jafliyah. The suspect came to me from behind, hugged me and then groped my buttocks. When I screamed he snatched my purse and started running. Two bystanders chased and stopped him until the police came and apprehended him. They returned my purse."
Tempted
A 29-year-old policeman said the defendant confessed to groping the woman's buttocks and claimed "the devil tempted him to touch her".
