Customs foils bid to smuggle heroin through Dubai Airport

Customs officials here have succeeded in foiling several attempts to smuggle drugs into the country through the Dubai International Airport.

Dubai: Customs officials here have succeeded in foiling several attempts to smuggle drugs into the country through Dubai International Airport.

On March 26 and 29, Dubai Customs inspectors at Terminal 1 in Dubai Airport were able to foil two attempts to smuggle heroin totalling 1.25 kg by two Asian travellers who had swallowed capsules containing the drug to escape detection.

On March 28 in Terminal 2 this time, Customs inspectors were able to stop an attempt to smuggle 1.36 kg of heroin in 54 capsules.
