Dubai: A teenage suspect in the case of the 15-year-old French boy who was reportedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted last July is being questioned for supposedly having sex with two teenagers against their will.
The Public Prosecution is questioning the 17-year-old Emirati student, I.S., along with other suspects, for having sex against the will of Pakistani student, R.A, 16, in the first case and against the will of Emirati S.A., 15, in the second case. The Public Prosecution started questioning him on September 13 in the first case, and on September 15 in the second.
In the first case, I.S. along with his three compatriots reportedly had sex against the will of the Pakistani student. In the second case, I.S. along with two of his teenage compatriots and a Yemeni suspect allegedly had sex against the will of S.A., who is also a suspect in the first case.
Deceived two teens
Sources close to the investigation in both cases told Gulf News yesterday that I.S. is still being questioned and has not been referred to court. On the other hand, I.S.'s cousin, M.D., 18, testified before the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday.
"I went to aid my teenage cousin to pull out his vehicle which was stuck in a sand dune close to Al Barsha. I didn't notice any-thing strange," the witness testified before presiding judge Fahmi Mounir.
The Public Prosecution charged I.S. and his two compatriots, A.K., 35, and I.M., 18, with deceiving the French boy A.R. and his compatriot F.K., 16, by offering to drive them home.
The three were charged with forcibly undressing A.R., threatening him with a knife and a stick and raping him.
"I only saw my cousin who was drunk and A.K. as well. I.M. wasn't present with them," added M.D.
The court's secretary read out the statement of the policeman, who was among the police team which arrested the trio. The policeman's statement was read because he is on leave and failed to appear on court.
The court will resume arguments on November 18.
