Dubai: A clerk has been jailed for slapping a Filip-ino woman during a dinner invitation, before he undressed and molested her and took photos of her naked.
The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the 32-year-old Pakistani clerk to six months in jail. He will be deported after serving his sentence. The ruling is subject to appeal.
The court, however, acquitted the clerk, identified as I.J., of charges of kidnapping the 26-year-old Filipina worker and deceiving her with an invitation to dinner at his flat. The court ruled that the woman had gone to the flat willingly.
The girl, J.O., claimed that the clerk had deceived her with an invitation to dinner, drove her to his flat, forcefully pulled her into the bedroom, where she claimed he undressed and molested her and then took pictures of her naked while being under the influence of liquor.
The court further referred the accused to the Dubai Court of Misdemeanours, where he will be prosecuted for assaulting the Filipina and consuming liquor.
