Child drowns in RAK pool
Omar Salem, a four-year-old Emirati boy, was drowned in the swimming pool at his house in the Suhailah area here on Monday.
Ras Al Khaimah: Omar Salem, a four-year-old Emirati boy, drowned in the swimming pool at his house in the Suhailah area here on Monday.
Lt Colonel Yaqoub Al Hadad, head of Al Digdaga Police Station, said initial investigations revealed the child had accidentally fallen off and was stuck at the bottom of the pool for a long time before being noticed by a family member.
Al Hadad added that the family member raised an alarm and Omar was rushed to Saqr Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This is the second such incident in Ras Al Khaimah in the last few months. Earlier, an Emirati girl was drowned in the swimming pool of her house in Al Dhaid.
