Dubai: Three policemen brothers have denied two charges brought against them.

One was an attempt to kill a colleague and secondly, an assault against a student who threatened to expose their sister's picture on the internet if she declined his moves.

The brothers pleaded not guilty against the charge of attempted murder of 19-year-old Emirati corporal and assaulting their 20-year-old compatriot student when they appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday.

On his part, the student denied that he threatened to publish the 17-year-old sister's picture over the internet and told Presiding Judge Saeed Salem Bin Sarm: "I didn't do it... I will hand a copy of the sister's text messages which she sent to my cell-phone when I submit my defence."

Each of the brothers firmly told the Court: "No, I didn't do it." One of the brothers, aged 22, pleaded not guilty against the charge of throwing a chair on the windshield of the student's car and destroying it during a fight, in Al Baraha.

The trial continues.
