Brothers get jail terms for abusing teenagers and raping their friend
Two brothers have been jailed for molesting two teenage sisters and raping their 23-year-old friend at knifepoint in a deserted area.
Dubai: Two brothers have been jailed for molesting two teenage sisters and raping their 23-year-old friend at knifepoint in a deserted area.
The Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday sentenced 24-year-old Jordanian, M.S., to three years in jail while his 20-year-old brother, A.S., was sentenced to two years in jail. They will be deported after serving their terms.
The Public Prosecution charged the defendants with molesting the Moroccan sisters, 14-year-old N.O. and 17-year-old I.O., and raping their 23-year-old friend, identified as H.F., who was visiting them.
They were also charged with threatening to kill their victims with a knife before attacking them. The Jordanians pleaded innocent to the rape charge and told the court that "it happened with the girl's consent."
A police officer said they arrested the younger brother at a car rental shop after tracking him down from his car licence number. A.S. aided the police in arresting his elder brother. After the incident, the elder brother dropped the girls at their house in Sharjah. The girls reported the attack to Dubai police operations room.
The 23-year-old said in her statement they had gone to exchange a ticket at Dubai airport when M.S. pulled up beside them and offered to drive them to their destination. He then drove them in an unknown direction and held a knife to their faces when they asked him to drop them off.
H.F. said they stopped in a poorly lit place and forced the 14-year-old out of the car. Police investigations revealed that the two sisters were molested and the 23-year-old was raped.
