Dubai: Until a body is brought forward as evidence that Kerry Winter is dead, her brother Kurt refuses to believe the latest claims by the main suspect that he left the South African woman for dead, still refusing to reveal her exact location.

Several versions of events have been told by the British ex-boyfriend seen by Kerry's neighbours beating her, and driving her away in her own car more than a month ago.

Since the begining of the investigation he told authorities and family members brought in to speak to him that he did beat Kerry but then left her on a desert road. He repeatedly said that she was ‘fine' when he left her.

According to Kurt Winter, the man confessed on Monday that Kerry was dead when he drove off with her in her car - after he beat her with a baseball bat outside her home on August 20.

He apparently admitted to police that she was dead in the car but claims that he did not kill her. His ex wife, a British woman living in Dubai, has also told friends that he has not confessed to murder, after she apparently spoke to him Wednesday morning.

Missing for weeks, Kerry's injuries were probably quite severe from the amount of blood found outside her property, friends of the 35 year old South African woman told Gulf News.

Kerry's body has still not been found. Initial claims by the main suspect were that he had left her on a desert road but in his latest confession he said he had dumped her body at sea.

Her brother does not believe the declaration made by his sister's aggressor. "His story has changed so much every time he is questioned. Why now? Why should we believe him this time?" he told Gulf News.

According to Winter, the suspect has 'confessed to killing her and dumping her at sea'.

"I think he's lying. Since day one he said he didn't do it, then he gave us the car, he told us she was in the desert. He hasn't been constant," said Winter.

The suspect apparently owns a boat which is not registered in his name. There is no police confirmation of him taking the boat out, said Winter. "The harbour master knows nothing of him taking the boat," he said.

"Until the police show me evidence and show me her body I won't believe it. Kerry is alive. We're not giving up until the police come forward and say they have a body," he said. "I'm still searching."
