Brave son retrieves father's money from thief
A brave son leapt into action when he saw his father being assaulted and robbed of $12,000 (about Dh44,000) by a man whom he stopped after a long chase.
Dubai: A brave son leapt into action when he saw his father being assaulted and robbed of $12,000 (about Dh44,000) by a man whom he stopped after a long chase.
Records said the 27-year-old Iranian youth chased the 27-year-old Eritrean through the streets and with the help of some bystanders stopped him and handed him over to the police.
The son, M.R., also retrieved his 55-year-old father's money from the suspect.
Meanwhile the suspect, M.I., pleaded not guilty when he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance.
The Public Prosecution charged him with assaulting the merchant, tripping him and snatching the money from his pocket.
