I am writing this report to share my concerns regarding rusted metal rods that can be seen protruding out of the concrete steps on the sidewalk near a popular restaurant on King Faisal Street, in Sharjah (as seen in photograph).
I walk this path regularly to reach my dance classes in the evenings, and on many instances I have seen people tripping over the rods and getting slightly injured in the process. If you’re climbing the steps, you can easily see them and avoid going over them. However, when you’re climbing down, you may not be able to see them clearly, and it is possible to trip over them. Those who wear long dresses or abayas are at even more risk of tripping.
Additionally, there are young children who usually play on this sidewalk, and it is extremely dangerous to have these rods there. While they run around, they could get injured and it may even lead to worse health issues because these rods look really old. A cut caused by the rusted metal would affect their health. If they fail to realise that they have a cut, it could even lead to serious infection.
I hope the concerned authorities would take the necessary steps to fix this immediately before anyone else gets injured.
