On the edge of life and death

Gulf News reader Deepak Lulla took this photograph to highlight the danger workers face by not following proper safety procedures. He said: “This happened in Karama,
Dubai, in the Shaikh Hamdan colony. The workers were just 15 metres away from my balcony. Absolutely no safety precautions were taken by those working on the building, no hard hats worn, no safety harnesses used. The authorities should fine and ban such companies who risk the lives of their employees.”
