Commuters find it difficult as there is no shade at all at a busy bus stop in Deira

In the hot summer months, it becomes difficult for commuters who have to wait without any bus shelter at the Deira fish market. This is a busy bus stop just before Shindagha Tunnel, when going towards Al Ghubaiba.

I checked with the Roads and Transport Authority well ahead of the summer — about three months ago — and I was told that a bus shelter would soon be constructed in the area. However, nothing has happened yet.

The worst part about it is that there is no respite — there is no building nearby where people can stand in the shade. It is just an open space. And if it gets windy, the area is full of dust and sand. It is a truly pathetic situation.

I urge the authorities to take action at the earliest.
