Police arrest housemaid suspected of stealing

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) have arrested a Sri Lankan housemaid suspected of stealing 19,000 Omani riyals (Dh181,000) from her employer's house in the Baushar district of Muscat.
The suspect allegedly stole the cash when the owner of the house had gone out shopping. The maid was working there on a temporary basis after absconding from her original sponsor. After the employer lodged a complaint at the Baushar police station, the police apprehended the suspect and her three Sri Lankan partners, including two women and a man. According to police, all four have confessed to their crime.
