Omani falls to his death at Jebel Akhdar mountain range
60-year-old man slipped while trying to climb a rugged area
“It seems that the 60-year-old citizen had gone to a farm located at a height,” a ROP spokesman said. He added that the unidentified man lost his footing while trying to climb a rugged area and fell to the foot of the mountain.
He added that due to the rugged area the police had to employ a helicopter to airlift the body to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, the ROP in Ibra town arrested two citizens on charges of housebreaking, kidnapping a girl and indecent display in public last Thursday.
“The two accused in their 20s, entered the girl’s house forcibly, beat up her brother and others who came to help and kidnapped the girl and took her to an unknown location by car,” the ROP spokesman revealed.
The police set up a trap and arrested one of the accused first, who led to the other accused. “Both of them have a criminal history and were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident,” the police spokesman said.
