Suspect admits financial dispute led to violent altercation
Muscat: Police in Oman have arrested an expatriate, believed to be a Pakistani national, on charges of murdering a compatriot last month.
“The police received a complaint on November 17 that an expatriate was beaten up and critically injured,” a police spokesman said.
The police swiftly reached the building in Muscat where the victim was found in a very critical condition. “He was moved to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries later,” the police spokesman added.
The Criminal Investigation Department officers carried out investigations and arrested the 46-year-old accused. “The accused confessed to his crime during interrogation and said that he and the victim fought over a financial dispute between the two.”
Meanwhile, officers from the Narcotics Control department arrested an Asian man from Ghubra suburb in Muscat red-handed with 23 capsules of heroin. The arrest was made following a tip-off about a man in possession of narcotics.
