Kuwait - Kuwait has strongly condemned what it termed the “heinous” crime committed by the Syrian government forces in the town of Houla in Homs, in which scores of people were killed and injured most of them women and children.

Kuwait “condemns the excessive use of force by the Syrian regime against its unarmed people,” a foreign ministry source said in a brief statement to the Kuwait News Agency.

Kuwait as rotating president of the Arab League council, has started contacting regional and international parties, as well as urging the international community to live up to its responsibility towards stopping bloodshed in Syria, and providing security for the Syrian people, the source said.

Kuwait will also contact its Arab League partners to hold an urgent ministerial meeting to discuss how to put an end to the “practices of oppression against the Syrian people,” the source added.
