Candidates campaign via internet

Dubai: Candidates in Kuwait's parliamentary elections are using the internet as a new medium to broadcast their campaign, press reports said.
Kuwaitis say this is the first time that the internet has played a role in their national elections. The last election was held in 1996.
The medium proves to suit Kuwait's summer, as temperatures approach 45C, so everyone stays indoors and taps away at their laptops. But this is not the only novelty in this year's elections.
One of the candidates had the ingenious idea of commissioning a leading international fashion house to produce handbags for ladies, noted Arabic-language newspaper Al Bayah.
The paper added that he has made sure the batch reached Kuwait three days before polls so that he could distribute them to voters.
A woman said, if men accept presents and bribes, why wouldn't women accept elegant designer handbags?
