Manama: The “Kuwait Declaration” to be issued following an Arab-African summit in Kuwait in November will include calls to bolster cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, investments and partnerships between civil society institutions.
It will also include further coordination of the Arab-African positions towards political issues of common interest, especially regional security and peace, Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) reported on Thursday.
The accords were reached during a series of meetings that lasted one week of the joint Arab-African drafting committee at the African Union’s (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, the official news agency said.
A press release issued by the Arab League on Thursday said that the teams from the two sides agreed on the final joint draft report of the Arab League Secretary General and the African Union’s Commissioner.
Both sides also reached a consensus on the major issues at the summit, namely investment, agricultural development, food, increasing of commercial exchange, infrastructure and immigration, it said.
The press release highlighted the final agreement on the agenda of the joint meeting of the Arab and African agriculture ministers to be held in Riyadh on October 1 -2.
Kuwait is scheduled to host the Arab-African summit, the third of its kind, on November 19.
