Manama: A Salafist lawmaker called upon Bahrain Defence Force to step in to help restore security and order after riots and violence erupted in many parts of Bahrain.
Independent MP Jassem Al Saidi told Gulf News on Tuesday that members of the defence forces with academic and specialised skills should be trained in important government organisations such as electricity and health to be ready to operate their technical devices in case of massive civilian unrest.
"The situation in Bahrain couldn't be tolerated and riots and violence should be tackled with well-planned military plan, similar to an incident in the United States when the US forces stepped in to control a strike at an airport," he said.
