Dubai: A man was killed and two others sustained injuries in a collision between a pick-up truck and a cement mixer on Al Khail Road early Thursday morning.
Captain Tahnoon Humaid, Duty Rescue Officer at Dubai Police, said the accident took place when the Indian driver identified as T.R. was driving the pick-up recklessly over the speed limit.
As a result, he collided with a large cement mixer which was moving in front of him.
The pick-up driver and two men who were accompanying him were trapped in the vehicle due to the impact of the collision.
Rescue and Difficult Missions’ teams went to the accident scene on Al Khail Road near Bu Kadra Intersection.
The teams used hydraulic cutters to get the trapped people and the driver, who was killed on the spot, out of the wreckage.
The injured men sustained serious to moderate injuries and were taken to Rashid Hospital for treatment.
