Dubai: A father is currently being questioned for reportedly killing his relative who allegedly had sex with his 17-year-old daughter and got her pregnant, Gulf News learnt on Thursday.
Sharjah Public Prosecution is currently questioning the 46-year-old Syrian father, identified as T.H., who faces charges of murdering his 23-year-old compatriot nephew, A.M., and purportedly covering his body with concrete and leaving it at a construction site in Dubai.
A source close to the investigation told Gulf News Sharjah Public Prosecution will refer T.H. and two of his relatives, who are believed to have colluded with him in the alleged murder, to Dubai's Public Prosecution soon "because the killing happened in its jurisdiction".
The 17-year-old daughter, N.T., who is a pupil, will be questioned in Sharjah over the alleged charges of having consensual sex with the deceased and getting pregnant illegitimately. Sources said the girl denied having consensual sex and claimed her relative raped her.
Denial
The 46-year-old father has also denied the charges.
Sources said A.M.'s family lodged a missing person complaint at Sharjah police after their son went "unexplainably missing".
The family claimed that they received a text message from their son's mobile phone informing them that he was out of town following several failed attempts to reach him on his cell phone.
The two families tried to sort out the problem and make the deceased and the girl get married especially because she was pregnant, added the sources.
But the two families started feuding because the 23-year-old reportedly evaded the marriage.
A.M.'s family suspected that T.H. must have been involved in their son's absence and informed Sharjah police about the dispute. Police found that the uncle used his nephew's SIM card to send a text message to the family. It is believed that police found the message in the outgoing mailbox of the father's cell phone.
