Abu Dhabi: Forecasters warn of windy weather and rough seas accompanied by a significant temperature drop for the next three days due to a strong north-westerly wind heading towards the UAE.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, a strong north-westerly wind will hit the UAE today morning.
The wind would reach up to 30-35 knots on Thursday and Friday, a spokesperson told Gulf News. The weather is expected to gradually improve from Saturday.
"The sea would be rough with the height of the wave reaching 10-14 feet offshore while the wind over the land is expected to be 16 to 22 knots.
This would kick up the sand and reduce the visibility in most parts of the country also causing a significant temperature drop," he said.
The Centre advised sailors and fishermen to wait for at least four days before they venture out to the sea. Those suffering from allergy and asthma, especially children, must remain indoors during these days, officials warned.
