Dubai: The weather will start warming up during the week, with the temperature expected to touch 30 degrees Celsius on Friday, according to the Dubai Met Office.
"The temperature is climbing higher and higher, but summer is still a long way ahead," said Dr S. K. Gupta, duty forecaster, who adds that a weak shammal wind is also expected.
The maximum on Wednesday will be 29C and the minimum 16C across the emirates. The shammal, expected on Saturday, will then drop the temperature by about five degrees to 25 degrees. "It's time to get rid of the winter clothes," said Gupta, adding that "people were getting fed up of the cold."
The pea-souper fog which engulfed Abu Dhabi for more than four hours on Sunday has moved on and shrouded Doha, Qatar on Monday night, said Gupta.
There will be no rain, at least for the next seven days, but be prepared for thundery activity in the skies once again next month, said the forecaster.
