Abu Dhabi: The curtain came down on the Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s events in the Netherlands with the fifth and final leg of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup series, which was held over the weekend at Duindigt racecourse.

Myrtille de Jura was ably ridden by Robin Weber to win the race, with Robbie The First under Patrick Gibson second and Ainhoa Djass under Fabian Weissmeier third.

The Netherlands has been staging Shaikh Mansour Festival events since it started in 2009. This year, the country played host to the Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup and the Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR, as well as the five races in the Wathba Stud Farm Cup series.

“We are very grateful to the Shaikh Mansour Festival for its support to Purebred Arabian racing here in the Netherlands,” said Wieger Joost de Ruiter, Chairman of the Dutch Arabian Racing Committee.

“The efforts of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, have certainly helped Purebred Arabian racing in Europe through the Festival and I thank him for this support.”

The Shaikh Mansour Festival is organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and coordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in association with Emirates Racing Authority, IFAHR and Emirates Arabian Horse Society.
