Interactive: Take note of history

Every currency note contains a piece of the UAE’s rich history in the form of landmarks drawn on them. According to Aqil Al Najjar, Head of Document Checking Section at Dubai Police, the landmarks featured on the notes are actually created using line art, which is based on images made of straight or curved lines. The photograph of each landmark is given to an artist who then turns them into images using line art so they can be used on the notes. All currency notes, except for Dh10, which carries the drawing of a date palm tree and Ghaf trees, feature a landmark.
